This article introduces the AI capabilities available in Ideagen Healthcare Guardian, designed to help users work smarter and faster when completing questionnaires. Whether you're summarising complex data, identifying next steps, or filling in responses, AI is here to support you with intelligent, context-aware suggestions.
What is Ideagen AI and how does it help?
Ideagen AI is built to enhance your workflow by analysing questionnaire data and offering meaningful insights, suggestions, and actions. It’s designed to save time, improve accuracy, and support better decision-making—especially in high-impact areas like Incidents, Feedback, and Risks.
Accessing AI is simple:
- Open a questionnaire.
- Use the slide-out navigation panel.
- Select a prompt and click Run.
- The AI will analyse the data and respond based on the configured prompt.
Types of AI prompts available
There are three main types of prompts, each tailored to different tasks:
- AI summarisation and validation
- AI suggested actions
- AI suggested answers with explanations
AI summarisation and validation
This prompt helps you quickly understand and review questionnaire content by generating clear, human-readable summaries. Use cases include:
- Audience-specific summaries: Tailored for doctors, nurses, affected individuals, politicians, or the public.
- Letter generation: Automatically draft letters using key questionnaire details.
- Content validation: Identify missing or inconsistent data, such as comparing free text descriptions with other answers.
Summaries can be copied to the clipboard or automatically populated into a long-text question.
AI suggested actions
Based on the data in the questionnaire, the AI can recommend relevant follow-up actions. This is especially useful for incident management and risk mitigation.
Each suggested action includes:
- Title
- Description
- Owner (defaults to the current user)
- Estimated duration (in working days)
Actions can be created instantly or edited before saving.
AI suggested answers with explanations
When completing questionnaires, the AI can suggest answers for supported question types by analysing existing data (e.g., descriptions). Each suggestion includes a clear explanation to help users understand the reasoning.
Supported question types:
- Text
- Numeric
- Choice
- Date
- Yes/No
Limitations:
- Cascading lists, employee, and organisational unit fields are not supported.
- Only one answer can be set for multi-choice questions.
- In repeating sections, only the first instance can be updated.
- Suggested answers can be accepted or rejected, but not edited before acceptance.
