Who is this article for?

Users responsible for managing Questionnaire template pages.

Performance Modeller or Model Administrator permissions and Ideagen Healthcare Guardian v22+ access are required.

Performance Modellers and Model Administrators can edit questionnaire templates pages, if they are member of the Question Type permission group.

1. Adding a Question

To add a section:

1. Access Question Manager.
2. Select the questionnaire type.
3. Open a questionnaire.

4. Select Question Builder.
5. Select the section the question should be included in and simply start typing the name of your question
   
   

6. Click on Question Settings (Cog Icon)

   

7. Configure the settings for the question as required. See Understanding Question Settings.
8. Click Save & Overwrite to update the CURRENT VERSION of the questionnaire

2. Deleting a Question

To delete a section:

1. Access Question Manager.
2. Select the questionnaire type.
3. Open a questionnaire.
   
   
4. Select Question Builder.
5. Find the section to be deleted
6. Click Delete (Bin Icon)
   
7. Click Save & Overwrite to update the CURRENT VERSION of the questionnaire

We do not recommend deleting questions that have been previously answered in one or more instance. This will result in irretrievable data loss. In this case, we recommend using the 'lock' function or creating a new version of the questionnaire.

3. Moving a Question (Within its Current Section)

To move a section:

1. Access Question Manager.
2. Select the questionnaire type.
3. Open a questionnaire.
   
   
4. Select Question Builder.
5. Find the section to be moved
6. Drag and drop the question into its new position
7. Click Save & Overwrite to update the CURRENT VERSION of the questionnaire

TIP: When considering the position of question, you will want to consider the user experience and not want users having the scroll 'up and down' to complete the questionnaire. Therefore, the positioning of a question is important to consider in conjunction with any "When to Show" conditions. A good user experience would be a consistent 'down-ward scroll' experience

4. Understanding Section Settings

To amend question settings

1. Access Question Manager.
2. Select the questionnaire type.
3. Open a questionnaire.
   
   
4. Select Question Builder.

System

Selecting the question to system managed. Will render the question un-editable by customers. This should not be used without consulting Ideagen Healthcare Guardian 

General

UPDATING GENERAL SETTINGS ABOUT THE SECTION

Type - This will be by default the same as the section name and is shown in a live connection when 'section' is added to the visualisation

Default - Enter a or select a default answer for the question, each questionnaire when will then be pre-populated with that answer unless changed by an end user

Reporting Alias - This will be by default the same as the question name and is shown in a live connection when 'question' is added to the visualisation

Reference - a free text field can then be useful to combining question and answers from across various questionnaires.

Repeat - Choose whether the question should be repeatable.

Making a question repeatable can only be set upon initial save of questionnaire.

When To Show

UPDATING WHEN TO SHOW SETTINGS ABOUT THE QUESTION

Choose whether a question shows in "All Stages" or certain workflow stage (e.g. Only show in New). You can also add an answer rule to When to Show so that the question only shows if an answer rule(s) is met.

If the When to show included an answer rule(s), you can choose whether the When to shows applies if ANY answer rule is met, or ALL answers rule are met. 

Required When

Questions can be made mandatory for completion without exception, or under only in certain workflow stages and/or if an answer rule(s) is met.

If the Required When includes an answer rule(s), you can choose whether the Required When applies if ANY answer rule is met, or ALL answers rule are met. 

Explanatory Text

UPDATING THE EXPLANATORY TEXT ABOUT THE QUESTION

This shows as block text underneath the question if the explanatory text is 200 characters or under. Explanatory text over 200 characters will show in a pop-up dialog window when the explanation text icon is clicked.

Locking a question will render the question 

Move a Question (to a Different Section)

To move a question from one section to another

1. Click Move
2. Choose the section to move the question into
3. Click Confirm Move

Please note you cannot move a question from a non-repeating section, into a repeating section; or a question from a repeating section, into a non-repeating section.
