Creating sections in Question Manager
Who is this article for?
Users responsible for managing Questionnaire template pages.
Modeller licence or above and membership in Questionnaire Admin permission groups
- Access question manager in Healthcare Guardian Admin
- Select the questionnaire type - 'Surveys', 'Events', 'Audits' or 'NHS Incident - LFPSE'
- Select a questionnaire to open
- Select question builder.
- Click +
Provide a section name
- Click save & overwrite to update the current version of the questionnaire
2. Deleting a Section
To delete a section:
- Access Question Manager.
- Select the questionnaire type.
- Open a questionnaire.
- Select Question Builder.
- Find the section to be deleted
- Click Delete (Bin Icon)
- Click Save & Overwrite to update the CURRENT VERSION of the questionnaire
3. Moving a Section
To move a section:
- Access Question Manager.
- Select the questionnaire type.
- Open a questionnaire.
- Select Question Builder.
- Find the section to be moved
- Drag and drop the section into its new position
- Click Save & Overwrite to update the CURRENT VERSION of the questionnaire
TIP: When considering the position of section, you will want to consider the user experience and not want users having the scroll 'up and down' to complete the questionnaire. Therefore, the positioning of a section is important to consider in conjunction with any "When to Show" conditions that may be enabled on the section (or questions within the section). A good user experience would be a consistent 'down-ward scroll' experience
Understanding Section Settings
System
Selecting the section to system managed. Will render this section un-editable by customers. This should not be used without consulting the Healthcare Guardian Support Team.
General
UPDATING GENERAL SETTINGS ABOUT THE SECTION
Reporting Alias - This will be by default the same as the section name and is shown in a live connection when 'section' is added to the visualisation
- Enable Tasks - Support the ability to add Healthcare Guardian Tasks to the section
- Enable Photos - Support the ability to add photos to the section
- Enable Document - Support the ability to add documents to the section, such as correspondence or policies
- Enable Links - Support the ability to add links to the section, such as link to a website
- Enable Email - Support the ability to send manual emails on the section
Repeat - Choose whether the section (and all questions in the section) should be repeatable. If required, you can choose a minimum number of repeats (these cannot be deleted) and the maximum number of repeats
Making a section repeatable can only be set upon initial save of questionnaire.
When To Show
UPDATING WHEN TO SHOW SETTINGS ABOUT THE SECTION
Choose whether a section shows in "All Stages" or certain workflow stage (e.g. Only show in New). You can also add an answer rule to When to Show so that the section only shows if an answer rule is met.
Explanatory Text
UPDATING THE EXPLANATORY TEXT ABOUT THE SECTION
This shows as block text at the top of section (i.e. before the questions). Section Explanatory text cannot be set to show as a pop-up
Permissions
Using section permissions is an effective way to manage whether certain users can view and/or edit a section.
- Select Permissions
- Select Restrict access to these groups
View - Only allow users in a particular group(s) to VIEW questions in the section
Edit - Only allow users in a particular group(s) to EDIT questions in the section
Edit when Viewer - Allow users in a particular group(s) to have evaluated edit when viewer permissions for a section are set
