Introduction to models
Who is this article for?
Administrators managing the org structure.
Administrator access is required.
In Ideagen Healthcare Guardian, a model refers to a structured environment or framework within the platform that defines how data, objects, and processes are organised and managed.
Each model can have its own configuration settings, permissions, and data structures, allowing organisations to tailor the system to different operational or strategic needs.
Models are registered against a URL, referred to as your site, and you will have one or more models.
Example: You may have a live production model and a training model.
Key characteristics of a model
- Custom Configuration: Each model can have unique settings such as start/end dates, branding, audit logging, and data aggregation rules.
- Data Structure: Models define how objects (like measures, plans, and competencies) are structured and how data is entered, calculated, and displayed.
- User Roles and Access: Permissions can be set per model, allowing different levels of access for users such as Enterprise Users, Performance Managers, and Model Administrators.
- Multiple Models: Organisations can operate multiple models simultaneously, each serving a different purpose (e.g., strategic planning, risk management, assurance frameworks)
This modular approach allows the system to support complex governance, risk, compliance, and performance management needs across diverse teams and departments.
