(as a minimum, we recommend Export Repeating)

The export format is designed for data warehouse reporting and therefore uses a consistent structure, with one row per questionnaire question. This ensures that the exported columns remain the same regardless of which questionnaire is being exported.
In contrast, a column-pair or single-row export format can become unreliable when questionnaires contain multiple repeating sections. Because questionnaires can have varying numbers of sections and questions, the warehouse export represents each question as a separate row, resulting in multiple rows for a single questionnaire instance if something closer to the example provided is important.
While a single-row or column-pair approach may be suitable for simpler reporting and incident trend analysis, questionnaires with multiple repeating sections introduce one-to-many relationships. These can lead to cross-join issues, making it difficult to produce a clean and reliable export.
The warehouse export approach is specifically designed to avoid these issues and provide a consistent dataset for reporting and analysis.
