Where to put your logo on your pages and dashboards?
Now, this may seem straightforward but there are only 2 ways to handle your logo on your pages and dashboards.
Top Left
The top left of the page and your BBK Menu is normally where you’d expect to see a logo. On almost all websites and even products, for left-to-right reading countries, the top left is where your page starts and it should start with your logo and brand.
Its generally the first place a user will naturally look on a page and if there is a familiar logo, they’ll know they’re in the right place.
No logo at all
Sometimes, you won’t need to use a logo at all.
If you have a dashboard with just charts, solely focused on delivering data and metrics, you don’t want too much on the page distracting you from the content.
You can remove the logo and any other fluff from the header, create a nice custom menu, and keep it really tight at the top, this will keep the page looking clean.
You can still navigate with the menu but there isn’t too much distracting the user from the data in the charts and it also pulls more of the page above the fold which means less scrolling.
Why shouldn't put the logo on the right
The internet as many other things operates from left to right.
This means the left is always constant and the right as to put up with being moved around all the time.
If you have the logo on the right on a responsive page, as the screen size reduces, you’ll lose your logo as free forms in the header and background free forms remain static, whilst the menu itself and widgets on the page are dynamic and responsive and move with the page.
If you have a fixed width page, it’s a bit easier as for most screen sizes your logo will remain visible on the right. But as you get smaller than your fixed width, the screen will still naturally cut off your logo and the right side of the page as the screen gets smaller.
This is why always safe to keep the logo on the left, for the page and for your users. It helps with consistency and continuity of the user experience.
