2. Healthcare Guardian

As part of our ongoing mission to deliver clarity, simplicity, and customer-first innovation, we’re refreshing the names of selected software solutions to better reflect their purpose and impact.

Ideagen Healthcare Guardian is now Healthcare Guardian—a name that speaks directly to its role in safeguarding healthcare excellence. Rest assured, this is a name change only. The powerful features, trusted performance, and seamless functionality you rely on remain exactly the same.

This is just one step in our journey to make our solutions even more intuitive and aligned with your needs.

2. Artificial Intelligence

We’re thrilled to unveil powerful new AI capabilities within Healthcare Guardian, designed to supercharge your workflow with greater efficiency, accuracy, and insight—especially when working with questionnaires like Incidents, Feedback, and Risks.

Accessing the AI is simple: just open a questionnaire and use the slide-out navigation panel. Select a prompt, hit run, and let the AI do the heavy lifting—analysing your data and delivering intelligent support tailored to your configured prompt.

You’ll have access to three types of prompts, each crafted to help you get the most out of your data and decision-making:

AI summarisation and validation: 

The AI can generate concise English summaries of entire questionnaires or specific sections or questions, making it easier to review and share key information. This summarisation has different use cases including but not limited to:

• Summary for different audiences such as Doctor, Nurse, affected person, Politician or member of public.
• Letter generation with key details from the questionnaire.
• Validate questionnaire content beyond the existing validation controls, highlighting missing or inconsistent data. An example of this is comparing the free text description with other questions to ensure consistency.

AI suggested actions

For questionnaires such as Incidents, Feedback, and Risks, the AI can suggest relevant follow-up actions based on the data provided. The actions can be created with a single click or modified manually before creating. Each action has the following properties:

• Title
• Description
• Owner (defaults to the current user)
• Days (estimated number of working days to complete)

AI suggested answers with explanations

When filling out questionnaires, the AI can suggest answers to questions by analysing existing data within the form, such as the description. Each suggested answer is accompanied by a clear explanation, helping users understand the rationale and supporting better decision making.

The AI can suggest values for text, numeric, choice, date, Yes/No, and other standard question types. It is currently unable to suggest values for cascading lists, employee and organisational unit. For multi choice, only a single answer can be set. If there are repeating sections for questions, only the first instance can be updated.

 Suggested responses may be accepted or rejected per question and may not be edited before accepting.

3. Additional improvements

Transform to Group auto create

The Transform to Group mappings have been enhanced to optionally create new Groups based on the values in the source list.  

The mapping uses the value with an optional prefix and suffix to generate the group name. Whenever a new value is added to the list, a new group will be created with the correct mapping automatically. This reduces the administrative cost of keeping the Transform to Group in sync with the available values in a list.

Questionnaire Attachments

Attachments in the questionnaire are now shown in a tabular format with the ability to filter by type and name. Photo thumbnails are not shown by default, due to the sensitive nature of some photos in a clinical setting. These can be shown with a simple toggle. This format uses rendering performance improvements that overcome the impact of loading questionnaires with 100+ attachments.

Patient Demographics - New Properties

The integration with patient demographics can populate extra fields:

• Gender
• Date of Death
• GP
• Ethnicity
• Marital Status

These extra fields will only populate if the connected system provides these fields.

Email

Questionnaire Trigger emails are now sent to all recipients as a single Email via BCC to prevent data leaks without requiring a separate Email per recipient. This increases the throughput of Emails from Healthcare Guardian and through email relays. This is split into 40 Recipients are capped at 40 per email due to limits set by some email servers. Additional emails will be sent, as necessary.

4. Fixes

Azure Maps

Bing Maps has been officially retired and replaced with Azure Maps.

For on-premise customers a new key is required for Azure Maps which can be generated within your own Azure portal, or one can be provided. This key will need to be added to your PPLUS.config file:

Print to PDF issues

On certain layouts, the print to PDF produced white space on the right, not using the space as expected. This white space has been removed so that pages will fit the entire width.

Scorecards now apply the auto width property from the Print settings, but will continue to ignore the auto height to produce the best visible result.

Pattern Updates

Updates to patterns in Administrator are now visible immediately after saving, and no longer need to manually clear the cache.
